Terms of Service
The following terms and conditions govern all use of the London Institute of Photography website and all content, services and products available at or through the website, including, but not limited to, London Institute of Photography free and paid services.
Please read this Agreement carefully before accessing or using the Website. By accessing or using any part of the web site, you agree to become bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the Website or use any services.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace any part of this Agreement.
Usage rights
By using this website you agree to accept these website terms of use. If you do not agree with these terms, you should exit www.liop.co.uk immediately.
By signing up to one of our courses, students allow London Institute of Photography to use the images produced during the course without compensation for promotional purposes .
Content Rights
The copyright and all other rights in all of the material contained on, in or available through this website are owned by London Institute of Photography, its affiliates and/or the original copyright holder, or the material is included with the permission of the rights owner. London Institute of Photography website is made available to provide information about our courses. You may not use this website for any manner or for any purpose which is illegal or unauthorized or for any commercial purpose whatsoever. You may not use, copy, reproduce, modify, edit, publish, redistribute, transmit, commercially exploit, store or upload the content on this website without the prior written consent of London Institute of Photography.
Recording of Sessions
Recording of classes, whether audio or video, is not permitted without prior written consent from London Institute of Photography. This includes recording of teaching material, tutors, or other students.
Any permission granted is discretionary, limited in scope, and may be withdrawn at any time. Recording is not a standard part of course delivery.
Liability
In the event a workshop is cancelled, for any reason, the extent of our liability is limited to the return of fees paid to us.
All workshop participants accept full responsibility for personal injury and/or personal losses during the period of the workshop. Applications and payments are an acknowledgment of the terms and conditions as outlined in this site.
Inclusive Environment Policy
At LIoP, we are committed to fostering an open-minded, supportive, and creative learning environment for all students. We believe in the importance of respect, kindness, and inclusivity. As such, any form of expression or behavior that is racist, transphobic, homophobic, ableist, or discriminatory in any way will not be tolerated. Students engaging in such conduct may receive a formal warning, and in cases of repeated behavior, a temporary suspension from classes may be enforced.
Payment details
We do not store credit card details and do not share customer data with third parties for payment processing.
Refunds & Cancellations
If a workshop or course is cancelled by London Institute of Photography, all participants will receive a full refund within 14 days of the cancellation date.
Students who cancel more than 30 days before the first day of the course will receive a full refund.
Students who cancel between 30 and 14 days before the first day of the course will be refunded minus an cancellation fee of:
– £50 for 10-hour courses
– £100 for 20-hour courses
– £200 for the Professional Photography Course
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 14 days before the course start date.
No refund or part-refund will be made for:
– Non-attendance (“no-shows”),
– Withdrawal after the course has started, or
– Bookings made for an inappropriate course level.
London Institute of Photography reserves the right to cancel a course if minimum participant numbers are not reached. In this unlikely event, students will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative date or course.
Dissatisfaction with course content, teaching style, or personal progress does not constitute grounds for a refund.
Instalment Payments and Attendance
Where a course is booked using an instalment plan, all instalments must be paid according to the agreed schedule payment schedule which is legally binding, and the full course fee remains payable, regardless of attendance or completion.
If an instalment is not paid when due, London Institute of Photography reserves the right to suspend the student’s attendance until payment has been received. During any period of suspension, the student may miss scheduled sessions, and no rescheduling, replacement sessions, or refunds will be offered for missed content.
Change of dates
No changes to a booking are permitted once the course has started.
In the case of a genuine emergency, one date change may be offered at our discretion. After this, no further changes, cancellations or refunds will be possible.
Vouchers
No refunds or part-refunds are available for bookings made using vouchers.
Vouchers and discounts may only be redeemed individually and cannot be combined.
Attendance and Shooting Day Policy
Punctuality is essential, especially on designated shooting days. Students who arrive more than one hour late may forfeit their scheduled shooting spot. Please note that due to the nature of the event, no refunds or rescheduling will be offered in such cases. We encourage all participants to plan accordingly and communicate any unavoidable delays as early as possible.
Attendance at sessions constitutes delivery of the service, regardless of the level of understanding or personal outcome achieved.
Bookings
Full payment must be received in order to guarantee your space reservation.
By booking a course on our webpage you are entering a legally binding contract with the London Institute of Photography.
Bookings can only be rescheduled with 14 days notice and must be taken within 6 months of the original booking.
We reserve the right to deny any applicant.
Courses
Courses typically contain a 1h lunch break and a short break in the morning and afternoon.
We reserve the right to change or modify course content without further notice.
Language requirements
All courses at London Institute of Photography are taught in English. Students are expected to have a sufficient level of spoken and written English to follow instructions, participate in discussions, and complete assignments.
We do not provide language support or formal language assessment, and no language certification is required. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their English level is adequate for the course they have booked. Difficulties arising from insufficient language proficiency do not constitute grounds for a refund or course transfer.
Course Suitability
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that a course is suitable for their individual needs, experience level, and learning objectives before booking.
Any guidance provided by London Institute of Photography prior to enrolment is given in good faith and is based on the information provided by the student. Such guidance does not constitute a guarantee of suitability, outcome, or success.
Learning Outcomes
While our courses are designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required for professional photography, individual progress and outcomes will vary depending on factors such as prior experience, engagement, practice, and personal development.
London Institute of Photography does not guarantee specific outcomes, levels of competence, or commercial success.
Course Delivery and Teaching Approach
Courses are delivered using a structured curriculum that combines theory, demonstration, and practical application. Teaching methods, pacing, and content progression are determined by London Institute of Photography and may not be tailored to individual learning preferences.
Students are responsible for engaging with the material, completing assignments, and seeking clarification where needed.
Assignments and Participation
Assignments and personal projects form an integral part of the learning process. While some assignments may be described as optional, students are strongly encouraged to complete them in order to benefit fully from the course.
Failure to complete assignments or engage with course material does not constitute grounds for a refund or complaint regarding course delivery.
Professional Photography Course
The Professional Photography Course module dates are fixed and no changes can be made.
To successfully complete the Professional Photography Course and receive the certificate a minimum attendance of 90% of the course hours total is required.
