Philip Northcoombes – Photographer and Director of the natural world
“I am interested in interrogating commonly held notions around photography, especially the idea of some nimble fingered gimlet-eyed photographer trapping a pivotal moment. I see this as a distraction because it adds weight to an argument about good and bad photography. I reject this not least because of the overwhelming western white and male nature of much of the photographic output I see. There is nothing wrong with the white male view of the world per se, but I see no reason for other voices not to be heard, including my own.” Tina Rowe
