Kostas Stavrinos – Food Stylist, Editorial and Advertising
Naomi Vona is a mixed media artist combining photography, illustration and collages. Born in Italy (Desio 1982), she is now based in London.
When she was still a student, she saw her passion for illustration and photography blossom. She holds a degree in Design and Photography from Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.
Later on, Naomi started experimenting with collages which brought her to develop her signature personal style.
In 2013 Naomi started playing with vintage photos, experimenting with painting, doodling and stickers. Consequently, she realised this was the best way to express herself artistically: by using this mixed media to tell stories about her personal experiences interlacing them with fantastical and abstract elements.
She defines herself as an “archival parasite, with no bad intentions”.
Her research focuses on altering vintage and contemporary found images, creating a new interpretation of the original shots. Using the found photograph as her canvas, she uses pens, paper, washi tape and stickers to give every image a new life. Every work is composed of three elements: her life background, inspirations and subconscious, which is also the glue that puts it all together.
She collaborated with the Wellcome Collection creating illustrations for ‘How to belong‘, a series of six essays written by Tanya Perdikou.
