The direction of photography is always a hot topic in LIoP. We like to keep our nose to the ground and celebrate what’s old, along with the new. We have a new exhibition to suggest to you lovely people and it is in  The Photographers Gallery. It is an important space for us photographers or lovers of photography. We had the senior curator Karen McQuaid give a Talk at our LIoP Show 17/18 which you can check out here.

So apart from the bookshop and great coffee, there are always great exhibitions.

There are two exhibitions that have just opened: Roman Vischniac Rediscovered but the one we want to discuss here is called, All I know is what’s on the internet”.

What The Photographer’s Gallery has to say:

This exhibition presents the work of 11 contemporary artists and groups seeking to map, visualise and question the cultural dynamics of 21st Century image culture.  Importantly, it investigates the systems through which today’s photographic images multiply online and asks what new forms of value, knowledge, meaning, and labour arise from this endless (re)circulation of content.

Hope you enjoy it!

They have also just announced the shortlist of the yearly Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize. Congratulations to Laia Abril, Susan Meiselas, Arwed Messmer and Mark Ruwedel. An exhibition of the shortlisted projects will be on show from 8 March to 2 June 2019.
