Whether you’re just starting out with photography or considering your next step, the London Institute of Photography is opening its doors on 4 & 5 July 2025 for two days of talks, informal sessions and one-to-one advice.
Taking place at the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, our Open Days are a chance to meet us in person, ask questions, and get a better feel for what it’s like to study at LIoP.
You’ll be welcomed by Holger Pooten, our founder and director, who will be leading both sessions across the two days.

What’s happening across the two days?
Rather than running a typical workshop schedule, we’re offering two informal events that reflect what LIoP is all about: supporting photographers to develop their personal style and practical confidence.
Event 1 – Meet LIoP + Photography Q&A Hub
An open-format session where you can ask anything — from technical camera questions to creative challenges or course advice. Holger will be on hand throughout, offering individual guidance and introducing how our courses are structured.
Event 2 – How To Find Your Style in Photography
This talk focuses on what really sets photographers apart: their visual voice. Holger shares insights and practical exercises on how to begin developing a style that’s recognisably your own — something we see as the cornerstone of every photographer’s journey, and a key part of what makes our approach unique.
