  • 02/11/18

Jim Naughten is an artist concerned with the transformative effect that photography can have on his subjects, ranging from second world war re-enactors to mythical 18th Century mountains. In each case, Naughten attempts to reanimate history,  examining our malleable and complex relationship with the past. He was awarded a painting scholarship to Lancing College and later studied photography at Bournemouth Art College. His work has been exhibited and collected internationally and his last project ‘Mountains of Kong’ was shortlisted for the Prix Elysee. He has published four monographs, Re-Enanactors, HotShoe Books 2009, Conflict and Costume, Merrell, 2013, Animal Kingdom, Prestel, 2016, Human Anatomy, Prestel, 2017, and Mountains of Kong will be published by Hoop Editions in January 2019. ve team.
